After Australia we went on to New Zealand.
Here our visit fell into two parts. We began in Auckland where we visited my cousins Roy and Sue Good. Roy is an abstract artist and they live in a fantastic modern house on the outskirts of Auckland where we spend a couple of fabulous days. Click here for our visit to Auckland
We then we flew down to the South Island. We were not able to visit Christchurch in the aftermath of the terrible earthquake, so we went to Dunedin, the ‘Edinburgh of the South’ where we stayed with Prof Charles Higham and his wife Polly. We then hired a car and drove up into the mountains, where we stayed at their holiday home on Lake Hawea.
