Bondi beach

While we were in Sydney, we couldn’t resist going to visit the famous Bondi Beach to see if it lived up to its reputation. We weren’t disappointed.

Bondi Beach is in one of the suburbs of Sydney — one might almost call it a satellite town: we went out there on a rather long bus ride. Here you see our first view of the beach, a long stretch of sand backed by a wide expanse of a grassy park where people could sit and watch the beach.

And here is the beach itself where one can see the great asset of the beach — the superb quality of the sand. Indeed I think I say it is the finest beach I have ever visited — no traces of stones or pebbles or even shingle. Just wonderful glorious sand — and no seaweed in the sea, either.

There was quite a swell in the sea, and the lifeguards were out in force. I decided to go swimming and rashly ventured out in this area near the lifeguards. However I had just got in nicely and was enjoying myself diving through the waves, when they called me back. I wasn’t a good enough swimmer, and this section of the beach was only for the proper swimmers and surfers.

I was sent off to the other end of the beach, for plebeians like myself. It was very nice, but it was a trifle crowded.

And here you can see quite clearly the division between the right hand side of the beach for the proper swimmers, and the left hand side for the rest of us. There is a sharp diagonal line of division.

The sand behind the beach was also crowded with lots of bronzed bodies

And here are two of the gorgeous girls flaunting their bronzed bodies in very brief bikinis. This is what one comes to Bondi Beach for!

There was also a steady parade of girls walking along the beach, enjoying the sun and the sea and being admired by all the male onlookers.

I didn’t just spend my time admiring the bikini girls — I also had a good swim myself. The sea was just as I like it, with a nice swell giving lots of waves to dive through. Bondi Beach certainly lived up to its reputation: the only thing missing was that none of the ladies saw fit to go topless!

When I came out, there just behind me was this gorgeous bikini girl with a very brief bikini: but why do the two handsome men accompanying her wear such ridiculously long trousers?

But eventually it was time to leave and return to the city. We passed a group of sunbathing girls on the grass behind, and then we caught a bus which took us on a short journey to the end of the Metro line, from which we caught the metro back to our hotel. It had been a good afternoon.
